Hi, my name is Jasmine Simmons and this fall I will be entering the ninth grade at The Harley School. I enjoy dancing, acting, reading, and playing basketball. I have received numerous sports, fine arts, and academic achievement awards. My future goal is to attend Harvard University and become a successful lawyer. I would like to be a lawyer because it is an opportunity for me to give back to my community by bringing justice to those who are wronged. A quote that I live by is, "We are fearfully and wonderfully made" - the Bible (Psalm 139:14). It means that God created us all unique and special. I believe that we should use our gifts and talents to make our communities better places to live. I feel that being crowned Miss Puerto Rico 2006 is a true blessing. It has helped me to become in touch with my Hispanic roots and become a better person. I hope to make positive contributions in my community and be a great role model for young women in Rochester. |
