Pageant Requirements

Miss Puerto Rico of Rochester
Puerto Rican Festival Incorporated

• Be between the ages of 14- 17 on the day of the pageant
• Maintain a C+ average or higher
• Must be at least 50% Puerto Rican
• Single, never married and without children
• A natural born female
• Enrolled in school for the entire school year
• Completed application and copy of current report card

Contestants will be judged in the following categories

Cultural Expression: A talent that embraces your Puerto Rican heritage and culture. May be done through a song, dance poem etc.

Poise and Elegance: How confident and graceful you present yourself.

Personal Interview: A one on one interview with the judges. Only one contestant will be interviewed at a time.

Essay: The essay will cover the town the contestant represents (Guayama, Arroyo, San Juan, etc.) and it’s flag.

Sessions: Contestants must participate in all rehearsals, workshops, research and community activities.

Grades: Must maintain a cumulative average of C+ or higher. A current and end of school year report card must be submitted.
